Court Personel to Benefit From Workshop on Judicial Ethics

The Judicial Education Institute (JEI) of the Senior Courts of Belize, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), are set to convene a vital two-day Training Workshop on Judicial Ethics on September 23-24, 2025.

The workshop, held at the Senior Courts of Belize, will address pressing ethical challenges faced by judges, magistrates, registrars, and judicial assistants in their work.

Chief Justice Honourable Mde. Louise Esther Blenman will lead the effort, bringing together prominent international, regional, and local jurists to facilitate discussions and training. The event will focus on fostering an exchange of best practices and ethical standards.

Participants will engage in sessions centered on international standards such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct, and Belize’s updated Judicial Code of Ethics. The workshop will also delve into the implications of emerging technologies, including social media and artificial intelligence, on judicial integrity, as well as the critical link between judicial ethics, well-being, and gender equality in access to justice.
