The Public Service Union of Belize (PSU) successfully hosted its 103rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 15th and 16th, 2025, at the University of Belize Jaguar Auditorium in the City of Belmopan. The event was held under the theme: “PSU 103 – Partners in Service: Serving in Purpose, Building with Pride, Championing Change.”
The two-day gathering began on Friday evening with an invocation by Pastor Micheal Ogaldez, followed by a welcome address delivered by Deputy Mayor of Belmopan, Ms. Coretta Banner. Guest Speaker Mr. Richard “Dickey” Bradley delivered a powerful and thought-provoking address, reminding public officers of their unique role and significant influence in shaping Belize’s governance.
Mr. Bradley emphasized the importance of integrity, urging officers to remain free from corruption and to resist political directives that compromise the impartiality of the public service. He called on public officers to uphold the principles of service to the nation, serve all citizens equally, and leave politics outside of the workplace. His address also highlighted the Union’s historic role in advancing political reform, transparency, and accountability, while reinforcing the duty of the Public Services Commission to safeguard public trust.
On Saturday, the Business Session was convened, during which elections were held for several executive posts.
