The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a one-month structured transition before Dr. Anthony Rosado officially assumes the post of Commissioner of Police.

According to the Ministry, the transition process begins immediately and is designed to ensure operational continuity, safeguard institutional knowledge, and maintain public safety throughout the leadership change. The structured handover reflects the Ministry’s stated commitment to professionalism, stability, and an uninterrupted chain of command within the Belize Police Department.

A formal handing-over ceremony is scheduled to take place during the transition period, with details to be announced at a later date.

The Ministry also extended its appreciation to outgoing Commissioner Chester Williams, citing his years of leadership and service as having left a meaningful mark on the department and the country.
