SCA Crowned New CODICADER Champions in San José

Saint Catherine Academy (SCA) has made Belize proud by winning the IX Central American Student Games (CODICADER) Volleyball Championship for High School Students at the Intermediate (Under-15) level. The final was played this afternoon at the Gimnasio Nacional Eddy Cortés in La Sabana, San José, Costa Rica.
The Belizean national champions defeated Costa Rica’s Liceo Experimental Bilingüe de Turrialba in straight sets to claim the regional title. The match was a rematch of Sunday’s group stage encounter, which SCA had also won convincingly. Riding their unbeaten streak and strong teamwork, the girls sealed the victory to become the new CODICADER champions.
SCA’s road to the title was dominant. They opened their game on Saturday, October 4, with a hard-fought 2–0 win over Nicaragua’s Colegio San Francisco Hermanos Maristas (25–23, 25–22). On Sunday, they stunned the Costa Rican hosts again in the group stage (25–22, 25–18), finishing at the top of their group before powering through to the final.
This victory marks a proud moment for Belizean sports, as SCA brings home gold and takes its place among the top volleyball programs in Central America.
