U.S. Delivers Emergency Vehicles to Belize

A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Joint Base Lewis-McChord arrived in Belize this week, delivering four emergency response vehicles to Southern Emergency Services to bolster disaster and emergency response capabilities across the country.

The vehicles will be deployed to support communities nationwide, enhancing readiness for medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other critical incidents.

In a statement, the U.S. Embassy in Belize explained that the delivery was facilitated through the Denton Humanitarian Assistance Program, a U.S. initiative that uses available cargo space on military aircraft to transport donated relief supplies at no cost to donors. The program routinely assists with the delivery of essential items such as medical equipment, school supplies, and food.

The Embassy noted that transforming unused cargo capacity into life-saving assistance is one of the ways U.S. Southern Command (#SOUTHCOM) helps strengthen partnerships in the region, contributing to a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Belize and its neighbors.
