The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is celebrating a big win in the world of educational advertising!
UWI snagged the gold prize in the 'Special Promotions Campaign' category at the 39th Annual Educational Advertising Awards (EduADAwards) for their awesome 75th anniversary digital launch campaign.
This competition, known as one of the top educational advertising awards in the US, draws in entries from colleges, universities, and secondary schools across the country and even from abroad. The panel of judges, made up of folks who know their stuff in higher education marketing and advertising, picked The UWI's campaign out of over 2,000 entries!
The campaign was all about celebrating The UWI's 75th anniversary. They launched it digitally, revealing special things like the anniversary theme, logo, and cool video packages. And guess what? The UWI wasn't the only big name to win gold. Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and MIT Professional Education were among the other winners.
Dr. Rhonda Jaipaul-O'Garro, the University's Director of Marketing and Communications, is beaming with pride. She credits the success of the campaign to the hard work of the University's own marketing and communications teams. This win adds to The UWI's growing list of international awards, showing off their knack for being innovative, creative, and great at getting their message across.
This isn't the first time The UWI has been in the spotlight for their digital prowess. Earlier this year, they scored another gold honor at the 17th annual AVA Digital Awards. And back in 2022, they won big for redesigning their website. In 2021, they took home two golds for their E-Publication in Climate Action and their COVID-19 Task Force Website. Plus, they got a special merit for their Climate Advocacy and Action Website.
