The Old Well Road in Lords Bank Village was quickly transformed into a murder scene after a passerby found the partially nude body of a woman discarded in some bushes beside the road.
While details are still emerging, the Reporter has confirmed that the deceased is a 39-year-old resident of the area.
The body was discovered early on Tuesday morning, face-up beside the road with injuries to her face. Sources also told us that evidence found on the scene suggested that she might have been sexually assaulted.
Credible information suggested that victim’s family had become concerned when she did not make it home Monday night. Consequently, they launched a search party for her early this morning which led to the discovery of her body on an overgrown path that she would usually walk to get home.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the matter. Of note is that this is the second time that a woman was found raped and murdered in the same vicinity. In March 2020, the partially nude body of 62-year-old Carolyn Joan Arnold was found discarded near a dumpsite in the same area.
Residents are concerned about poor lighting conditions in the neighborhood and have reached out to the Reporter to voice their concerns.
