Belize is preparing for the arrival of a cold front, which is expected to bring rain, strong winds, and cooler weather starting tonight. This system, moving over southeastern Mexico bringing in moisture from the Gulf, will cause moderate to heavy rainfall across the country, beginning tomorrow afternoon and lasting until Tuesday evening.
Coastal areas and islands should be ready for gusty winds of up to 45 km/h, which could affect small boats and outdoor activities. Inland areas will also experience a drop in temperatures, with lows reaching 66 degrees Fahrenheit due to the cold air mass accompanying the front.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, and secure loose items.
