Minister Garcia-Ramirez Named Global Ambassador for Inclusion

The Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs announced that Hon. Thea Garcia-Ramirez has been nominated as Belize’s Global Ambassador to the Global Coalition for Inclusion.
The nomination was formally conveyed by Mr. Marshall Nuñez, Vice Chair of Special Olympics Belize, during a courtesy visit to the Minister. The honor recognizes Minister Garcia-Ramirez’s longstanding advocacy for inclusion, equality, and the empowerment of persons with disabilities across Belize.
Minister Garcia-Ramirez has played a key role in advancing national policies that promote social inclusion and protect the rights of vulnerable populations. In accepting the nomination, she expressed deep gratitude to Special Olympics Belize and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to building a more inclusive society.
The Global Coalition for Inclusion brings together leaders and advocates worldwide to promote inclusive practices in education, health, and community life for persons with intellectual disabilities.
The Ministry also extended appreciation to Special Olympics Belize for its continued efforts to foster inclusion through sports and community engagement, and pledged ongoing collaboration to enhance the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in Belize.
