Shyne: ‘Faber no longer enjoys ‘confidence’ as Opposition Leader’

“Shyne” Barrow says Hon. Faber does not enjoy the confidence of the Opposition

“Patrick Faber does not enjoy the confidence of the majority of Opposition Members of the House. Tracy Panton enjoys the confidence of the majority of Opposition Members of the House.” This Facebook statement from United Democratic Party (UDP)’s Hon. Moses “Shyne” Barrow, who now refers to himself as the UDP’s Chief Whip, confirms the earlier reports of internal rumblings aimed at removing Hon. Patrick Faber as the current Leader of the Opposition.

Last week, the Reporter reported that there were some serious moves being made by UDP insiders to remove Faber following the recent domestic spat that was caught on camera.

“Tracy Panton enjoys the confidence of the majority of Opposition Members of the House,” Shyne added. “We will convene an emergency meeting of the UDP National Party Council before we proceed to write the Governor General.”

As we had reported last week, the move to oust Faber needs three signatures to proceed. As of printing last week, we were informed that two signatures were already secured. The final signature needed to have come from Hon. Tracy Panton, who, if the move is successful, would be named as Faber’s successor.
