Teen Assaulted During Home Invasion in Port Loyola

A 16-year-old girl was attacked during a home invasion early Sunday morning in the Jane Usher neighborhood of Port Loyola.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. when the teenager awoke to find an intruder restraining her and covering her mouth. The man threatened to kill her if she made any noise, but she managed to call out to her grandmother. In response, the assailant struck her in the face before escaping through the front door.

Investigators determined that the suspect gained entry by removing window louvers and using a wooden ladder to climb inside. Although nothing was stolen, the girl's phone, which had been charging in the living room, was found next to her after the attack.

Police have launched an investigation, but the suspect remains at large.
